"ENGLAND'S BEST STAGE GROUP TO COPENHAGEN
GENESIS is not just an ordinary beat group. They present a show that is so awesome that the group has just been voted "England's best stage band" by the readers of the major English music magazine New Musical Express. But not only that, the same magazine believes that GENISIS is the second best group in the world to go to a concert for. They are ranked higher than both the Rolling Stones and Alice Cooper.
The Danish-language group, which will give a concert in the Falkoner Theatre on Friday, February 21st at 2pm, also ranks in the poll with singer Peter Gabriel as one of the most listenable singers, and the group's new double album "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" has firmly established itself as one of the best LPs released in the past year.
Success is nothing new for GENESIS. Last year they achieved a similar position as England's most amazing stage group. Their music, an original and unique mix of folk music and hard beat, has given them a following and since they are not content to perform the numbers without any form of refinement, but wrap them in a surreal theatre of effects and the centerpiece Peter Gabriel is a transformation ball of different costumes and masks, they also know how to carry the audience along.
That is why GENESIS, unlike many other groups of an advanced nature, has become popular. Incidentally, the main track from their penultimate LP, "Selling England By The Pound", is a frequent request in radio letter programs with music. There is some indication that the Danish concert Genesis' first will also be the starting point for a great career here at home.
